Can you make your home carbon neutral? It is not difficult to improve your homes’ carbon footprint, with a few adjustments to your home.

The quickest way to improve your homes’ carbon footprint is to switch to LED light bulbs. These energy-efficient light bulbs will use up to 75% less energy.

They will also last about 25% longer, so this is a cost-effective way to be greener at home. LED bulbs are more environmentally friendly, and they will also save you money on your electricity bill.

Recycle At Home

When you recycle at home, it is important to wash out all of your glass jars before you toss them in the recycle bin.

Washing the jars will remove any hazardous materials that are left in the jar. Mercury can be left behind in the jar, so washing all the glass and recyclables is a good habit to create.

Energy Efficient Appliances

If it is time to get rid of your old fridge, or replace any appliances, it is important to make sure that you buy energy-efficient models.

This will help to conserve more energy, lower your energy bills, and more importantly, it will help the environment.

When you switch to energy-efficient appliances, they will consume less water and  energy, and help your home and your carbon-neutral goal, by reducing the greenhouse gasses that the new appliances release in the atmosphere.

Compost At Home

Compost at home will help your home’s carbon footprint. When you compost, this will greatly reduce the waste that your home produces.

When you produce less waste, this will help to reduce the amount that we send to the landfills, and this will help to reduce the amount of carbon gas in our atmosphere.

Solar Panels At Home

The best way to make your home more environmentally friendly is to install solar panels. This will greatly reduce your homes’ carbon footprint.

Solar energy is renewable energy that is clean and sustainable. With solar energy, you will reduce the amount of energy that your home uses from the grid. In fact, you can sell your energy back to the grid.

Solar energy is a renewable source of energy, so it will not run out.

Solar panels are expensive. There are some government incentives but if you do not want to spend the money, or you do not qualify for them, you can always buy small portable solar panels to reduce your energy consumption.

Portable solar panels are much cheaper to buy, and they can be your home’s generator, or charge your electric car. If you do not qualify for any government incentives, or loans, you can alway get an equity loan to help you to pay for your solar panels..

With these ideas, you will be able to make your home more carbon neutral, without having to go crazy. If you can invest in solar panels, that is the best way, but as you can see, it is not the only way to improve your home carbon footprint.
