Different gaming machines, also known as video game consoles, are available for people from all walks of life. The Nintendo’s Wii is of course a fun game machine for the whole family or to those who want to party together, the PS3 is perfect for HD lovers who want Blu-Ray support, while Xbox 360 is great for those who want to get connected online.

Nintendo Wii – Fun for Whole Family

Nintendo Wii has an innovative control system and this uses physical movement to play games. It is perfect for any age group. Most Wii games are made for multiplayer enjoyment, so it is the best system for family entertainment and small groups of friends. Wii simultaneously has a plethora of exclusive game titles including classics like Super Mario Bros and Legend of Zelda, and some new titles like Wii Sports Resort and Wii Fit.

The console has excellent selection of new titles, but it includes a good collection of old Nintendo titles made available for download for Wii’s Virtual Console. If that wasn’t enough the Wii also has some special WiiWare titles, which gives a fresh take on classic titles as well as some brand new 2D games and side scrollers.

However, it is not to forget that the Wii hardware slightly dated and this accounts for a comparatively cheaper price tag. Wii still only standard definition video output and does not support Dolby Digital surround sound, which basically means that the other video game consoles look and sound better. The difference in hardware and control scheme also means that a lot of third-party games available on Sony’s PS3 and Microsoft’s Xbox, such as Modern Warfare 2 or Batman: Arkham Asylum, aren’t available on Nintendo’s Wii.

Another issue is that the Wii is facing is that their innovative control system will soon be implemented into both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. So, who are not fans of Nintendo games, but love the control scheme, it might be worth waiting for the other systems to release their interactive control systems.

Sony’s PlayStation 3 is a Powerful Entertainment System

PlayStation 3’s Blu-Ray support makes it an excellent all-round entertainment system for HD lovers. PS3 is also fairly inexpensive with its latest $299 price tag for the PS3 Slim, just a little more than a typical Blu-Ray player. Fans of Sony’s PlayStation will definitely enjoy this machine, although backwards compatibility with PS2 games is no longer available with PS3 Slim. However, some PSOne titles are available through the PlayStation store.

PS3 has some of the best looking games and plenty of exclusives titles, including Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone, Resistance, and Drake’s Fortune 1 and 2. However, there is little that separates PS3 and Xbox 360 in terms of game titles and the majority of third-party developers support both systems.

Also, as previously mentioned, the PS3 have announced their own interactive control system in the form of PS3 wands. This will work almost exactly like the Wii, which will likely make the PS3 the best all-round entertainment system. Some Wii exclusive titles could even become available on the PS3 if the control systems are similar enough.

The only real negative is the PS3’s online capabilities, while free, really don’t match up to Xbox Live, although Sony is currently working on a new subscription system that may be similar to Xbox Live. Overall, the PS3 is definitely the most powerful machine and the Blu-Ray player is a huge plus.

Microsoft’s Xbox 360 is a Great Way to Connect with Others

With a system as comprehensive as the PS3, some may wonder why Microsoft’s Xbox 360 is even considered an option. With a smaller number of exclusive titles than the Wii and no Blu-Ray player like the PS3 it seems weaker, but Microsoft has focused on making the Xbox 360’s online capabilities some of the best around, it is backwards compatible with most original Xbox titles and, with the advent of Project Natal, could redefine gaming.

In terms of exclusive titles, Xbox 360 features the Halo series, Mass Effect, Forza Motorsport, Fable II, Gears of War and Left 4 Dead 1 and 2. These titles combined with Microsoft’s impressive online system arguably make the Xbox 360 the King of Shooters and RPGs. Recently, Modern Warfare 2 sold more than 4 million copies on Xbox 360 in the first few days of its release, while PS3 sold less than half that in the same amount of time.

Why the big difference is being witnessed? The answer is simple, Xbox Live. Xbox Live is simple to setup, fairly inexpensive and well worth it for players who want to jump online and go head to head with players around the world. With Xbox Live it is easy to find friends and set up games, connect to Facebook and Twitter with console specific apps as well as the ability to stream music via LastFM or movies via Netflix.

Furthermore, Microsoft has been putting a lot of their effort into their next gaming peripheral named Project Natal. Natal is essentially a bunch of cameras that can detect full 3D motion. While the Wii and PS3 systems will still require a controller and can only focus the gameplay on single point, the Natal will allow every movement to be captured. The Natal will also support voice and facial recognition, which should make the gaming experience more personal than ever before.

Overview of Video Game Consoles

According to gaming website casinos.id , Xbox and Sony both offer fair number of casino and board games. Overall, Sony’s PlayStation 3 is great for those looking for a powerful HD system with Blu-ray support. Xbox 360 may not be the most powerful, but for players who want to get connected online or those excited for the new control system it is definitely a great machine. Finally, the Wii is mainly for those who love the classic Nintendo titles or who love the new control system, but don’t want to pay for extra add-ons and equipment. The classic titles are hardly made available in modern machines.
